Jay Raj Yadav, 20, of Banauta has been arrested at his home on February 2, one year since he was wanted for a rape case. Yadav has been accused of raping a 35-year-old woman in January 2013 as she had gone to collect fodder. SP Saurav Rana said that Yadav had been living in India since the incident adding that he was arrested after a tip-off. Police had begun an investigation of the case on the basis of the FIR but later she retracted her complaint and accused police of her character assassination. The medical test had proved that the rape had occurred but later the victim and the perpetrator sides settled the case out court. The woman filed a complaint against the police themselves accusing them of forcing her to undergo a medical test.
