The charred body of Sarita Sahani, 21, has been found at her home in Gol Bazaar Municipality-8 around 10.30 on February 9.
The family members told the neighbours that Sarita, who has married two months ago, had committed suicide by setting herself on fire.
The body has been kept at Ram Kumar Sharada Uma Prasad Muraraka in Lahan for postmortem, Inspector Santosh Niraula of Area Police Office, Gol Bazaar informed.
The villages suspect that she might have been set on fire by her conjugal family which was unhappy about her dowries.
Niraula said that they had begun the investigation adding the husband of the deceased is not sound mental while the mother-in-law is absconding.
