Saptari/Feb 18
Police have filed a case of domestic violence at the District Court on February 18 on behalf of Mandira Kumari Subedi, 23, of Phattepur in Saptakoshi Municipality-4. The defendants of the case are her husband Sanjiv Kumar Katuwal, 28, mother-in-law Dil Kumari Katuwal and brother-in-law Santosh Kumar Katuwal, 26. Inspector Umesh Lamsal said that the case was filed after an attempt to reconcile both sides on January 11 after Mandira filed a complaint on December 1, 2014. Police said though the accused Dil Kumari and Santosh came to the court, Sanjiv remained absconding. Mandira and Sanjiv were married on December 14, 2010. Last August, after Sanjiv came back from his work in Saudi Arabia, he made a written commitment at Phattepur police station but he continued to threaten her with polygamy. She filed a complaint after she was forced out of the house on December 1, 2014.
