Police have arrested Barun Ram, 29, of Malhanama VDC-4 and Binod Das, 18, of Kushaha VDC-3 on March 3 on the charge of raping a 14-year-old girl. Among the accused, one Arbinda Sah of Pansera VDC-5 is still absconding. According to Inspector Chhedilal Kamati, the investigation into the incident is ongoing. Ram and Das are held in the custody of the Area Police Office Kalyanpur. Their judicial remand has been extended for five days following the District Court order. The victim said that she was gang-raped by the three men when she was chatting with Kishor Sardar, 19, of Pansera VDC-5 at a mango orchard in Kushaha VDC-4 on February 26. She added that the trio thrashed Sardar before raping her. Police recovered broken bangles from the incident site. Father of the victim has filed an FIR against the trio and Kishor at the Area Police Office on March 2. SI Hari Khadka informed that the victim was sent to the BP Koirala Institute of Health Sciences on March 3 for a health check-up. Manohar Kumar Pokharel
