Lumbini, Bardiya, Thakurbaba

The family of the accused in a rape case in Neulapur has reportedly threatened the victim's family to withdraw the complaint they filed at the police office. Dil Bahadur Kathayat one of the relatives of the 3-year-old girl who was raped by 16-year-old Keshav Bohora said that Bohora's family members have warned them of serious consequences if they did not withdraw the case filed against Keshav Bohora. 16-year-old local Keshav Bohora raped the minor on February 27. Relatives of the minor lodged a complaint at the district police office. The victim's father is a migrant worker in India. During the time when the case was filed Bohora had said that he was only 14 years old which would make him juvenile. After detaining him for 3 days, police released him saying that they cannot hold a juvenile in custody. But it was later learned that Bohora was actually 16 years old. The victim underwent a medical check-up at Gulariya hospital. According to relatives, the minor's condition has worsened after she returned home from the check-up and are concerned for her.
