Police have arrested Naresh Rai, 36, of Nayabasti in Terhauta VDC-5 on the charge of beating his wife Santoshi Chaudhari Rai, 35, to death. SP Shishir Kumar Karmacharya said that Santoshi died on March 24 morning after her husband beat her in an inebriated condition in the night of March 23. Police said that the accused hit Santoshi with the spatula on the charge of not preparing food. Body of the deceased is kept at the Gajendra Narayan Singh Sagarmatha Zonal Hospital in Rajbiraj for post-mortem.
