Police have arrested 7 protesters in Pokhara on Tuesday on the first day of the 3-day general strike called by the UCPN-Maoist led 30 party alliance. They were arrested for pelting stones at public vehicles being escorted by the police at China Pool. The arrested have been identified as Santosh Sunam, Bam Bahadur Karki, Ashok Jung Prasai, Sudham Rai. They had pelted stones at three vehicles bearing number plate Na 4 Kha 8688, Na 3 Kha2298 and Na 4 Kha 2190 at China Pool. According to police protesters have also vandalized two vehicles in Lekhnath Municipality. Normal life in Kaski has been thrown out of gear due to the bandh.
