A 14-year-old girl who was rescued from Himachal Pradesh, India where she had been sold by human traffickers has been handed back to her parents in Dharapani-3, Arghakhanchi. The seventh grader, who was trafficked to India in December, 2014, was rescued by Shanti Rehabilitation Centre. According to the victim, Sunil and Asmita Nepali of Thada-5, had trafficked her to India with the promise of a lucrative job and sold her in Kinnaur, Himanchal Pradesh. “I don’t know how much I was sold for, but the family that had bought me used to make me work at the fields from early in the morning till late in the night,” she said.
