NHRC attention drawn towards caste discrimination on Malik family

The National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) has said that it's attention has been drawn to the incident of caste discrimination sufferred by Malik family in Siraha. Issuing a press release today NHRC spokesperson Mohana Ansari said that it's attention was drawn since Malik family was still barred from freely drawing water from the well of their neighbour Ramabatar Yadav. Saying that it was against the law to hinder anyone from filling water from public well NHRC requested Malik family to draw water from the well without any hesitation. It has also requested respective government bodies to help the family draw water from the well without any fear and reprisals from the neighbour. Interim constitution 2063 has made it illegal to discriminate anyone on the basis of his/her caste.
