A youth of Lahan Municipality-20 named Umesh Shah has shot at his own sister, Renu Kumari Mahato (23) today. She has been seriously injured and has been taken to Biratnagar for treatment. Renu was married last year in Chauharwa, Siraha but she eloped with another man near her brother's house in Sigraha. and so the brother tried to kill his sister by shooting. According to a neighbour, a shot was fired but missed her and only hit her hair. Later the situation became serious when he attacked Renu with a sharp weapon, hitting her on the hands and head. The accused is on the absconding. According to DSP Uma Prasad Chaturvedi of Lahan Area Police Office, no shot was fired, only a sharp weapon used.
