The schools of northen parts of the district which resumed studies from August 24 following agreement between the agitating parties and stakeholders have closed again following threats by Madhesi cadres. On August 23, Tharuhat and Tharuwan Struggle Committee, Madhesi Morcha, Resource Centre’s school principals, school management committees, District Education Officer and Mediapersons had agreed to allow the schools to open and refraining from using the children in agitation. But the agitators called the schools at Buddhabatika Municipality, Buddi, Barkalpur, Shivaraj Municipality asking for closure of the schools. The bandh called by Tharuhat and Madhesi Morcha is going continued on the 14th day. There were a few vehicles plying on Mahendra Highway while in Banganga Municipality, the life is near normal. However, the southern parts of the district including Taulihawa, Bahadurgunj, Krishnanagar, Maharajgunj and Pakadi remain closed.
