DHANUSHA, MAY 30 - General Manager of Nepal Railway Suresh Yadav of Dhanusha has been shot dead on Tuesday night. It has been reported that local Harish Shiva Yadav fired gunshots at Yadav during an all party meeting at around 10.30 last night. Meanwhile, Shri Prasad Yadav, Suresh Prasad Yadav, Rajendra Yadav and Shyam Prasad Yadav have been injured in the incident. Among the injured, Rajendra and Shyam Prasad have sustained critical injuries. The dispute rose over the ownership of a local pond, sources confirmed. Shyam Yadab, who was injured in the Sirsiya shooting that took place on May 29, has died while undergoing treatment at the BP Koirala Institute of Sciences in Dharan.

According to the district police office, Shyam breathed his last at around 5 am on May 31. He had sustained 3 bullet injuries in his stomach.

According to his relatives, a group of around 20 persons including his cousins Hare Shiva and Ajad Yadav opened firing indiscriminately as Shyam was holding discussion with the General Manager (GM) of Nepal Railway Suresh Yadab over a dispute on pond.

Shyam's brother-in-law Suresh said that the assailants had chased Shyam upto his house when he sought refuge and shot him there again. He also sustained shrapnel injuries while trying to save Shyam. He has returned home after getting treatment at the Janakpur Zonal Hospital.

Locals and Hare Shiva had a dispute regarding the pond in front of the house of GM Suresh Yadav. The dispute heightened as local Lilanath Yadav filled the banks of the pond with mud.

Hare Shiva, 36, and Ajad, 28, of Tarapatti Sirsiya-1 are brothers. They have been involved in armed activities from some time. They are absconding after the incident.

DSP Tek Bahadur Gurung said that search for them was ongoing.
