Six cadres including the Kapilvastu district coordinator of SLMM, Satish Gupta,  attacked by bandh enforcers on Friday night. Gupta along with the five other cadres was intercepted by the locals of Krishnanagar while they were escorting trucks carrying gas cylinders at mid-night on Friday. The locals attacked the six accusing them of defying the bandh organized by themselves. They also accused Gupta and his accomplices of collecting money from entrepreneurs to escort the vehicle with number plate Bhe 1 Ka 170. The five other injured have been identified as Ajit Singh, Raju Kori, Sekhar Verma, Lalman Pasi, and Sanjay Giri. Security personnel from Nepal Police and APF immediately reached the place of the incident after being informed about it. According to police inspector Namaraj Bhattarai of Krishnanagar, locals were preparing to attack the six by surrounding them, but they were saved after police reached there in time and intervened. Police took them to a safe place later. "Our lives are in chaos due to the bandh, schools are closed, there is no medicine in the hospital, and we don't have any income. how can the leaders engage in the money-making act in such a situation ?" said angered local Dhiraj Chaudhary. He further said, " There might be genuine demands of this bandh, but how can they defy the bandh organized by themselves ?" Meanwhile, the SLMM has refrained from making any comment about the incident. Morcha leader and Tarai Madhes Lokatantrik Party vice-chairman Dharm Bahadurlal Shrivastav claimed that they did not know anything about the incident. SLMM Kapilvastu coordinator Satish Gupta said that only a minor scuffle had occurred and they were not attacked as it had been reported.
