Agitators burn broadsheets including THT in Birgunj

Parsa chapter of Madhesi Youth Front on Wednesday has burnt copies of six broadsheet dailies published from Kathmandu. The Front cadres burned the copies of The Himalayan Times, Kantipur, The Kathmandu Post, Annapurna Post, Nagarik and Rajdhani dailies at Maisthan of Birgunj. Om Prakash Sarraf, Nepal Pariwar Dal district chairman and leader of the Front, has accused the newspapers of carrying out reports against sentiments of the Madhes movement. He also warned of blocking the broadcast of Nepali television channels in the Tarai region. Leaders of the Madhesi parties had taken part in the rally, led by the Coordinator of the Front, Ishwor Yadav. The rally had concluded at local Ghantaghar. The protesters warned that the protest would continue until their demand was addressed in the new constitution.
