26-year-old Lilamaya Ale Magar of Sirise VDC-8 in Udayapur was seriously injured after being attacked with a khukuri by her husband Bishnu Bahadur Ale Magar on Friday. Lilamaya has sustained deep injuries to her head and stomach due to the attack which occurred during a minor dispute with her husband. According DSP Dipak Basnet of the area police office Katari, Lilamaya has been sent to Biratnagar for further treatment after undergoing basic treatment in Katari hospital. Meanwhile, police have initiated investigation into the incident by taking the attacker under custody. According to the locals, the attacker was often scolded by his in-laws for treating his wife poorly.
