UDMF cadres cut off fingers of man near Indo-Nepal border in Rupandehi

Cadres of the agitated United Democratic Madhesi Front (UDMF) cut off the fingers of a man near the Indo-Nepal border point in Belahiya of Rupandehi on Wednesday. According to the Area Police Office Belahiya, Krishna Bahadur Chhetri of Bhalwari of the district was critically injured in the attack. It came to light that the cadres of the Front took Chhetri under control near an Indian police post and physically assaulted him resulting in critical injury with a sharp weapon. Police suspect that he might have reached Sunauli to purchase daily commodities. The incident took place after a clash ensued between the protesters and police personnel at the Indo-Nepal border point in Belahiya. The clash erupted after the police personnel removed the cadres of the alliance who were staging demonstration at the border point.
