Hom Prasad Rai, 51, of Diktel municipality-7, Bamrang, who was accused of murdering his wife, has been remanded to custody in Khotang on Monday. Rai was accused of murdering his 46-year-old wife Buddhi Shova Rai, under the influence of alcohol on October 27. District Police Office Khotang DSP Bidhyananda Majhi said the accused was remanded to custody as per the district court order. Meanwhile, Kampaser Rai, 63, of Batase-3 has been sent to prison for seven months for his involvement in an assault case. He was arrested due to the FIR filed by Nabin Rai of Batase on Sunday, said DSP Majhi.
