District Police Office, Khandbari has presented two youths on July 6 to the District Court to extend their time in custody for investigation of the charge of rape against them.

Bhupalman Karki, 19, of Makalu-3 and Chyanduk Bhote of Hatiya-8 were accused of raping a 15-year-old girl of Hatiya-8 and currently living in KhandbariN.P.3 on July 2.

The girl filed a complaint against the duo on July 3 saying that she was taken to a hotel in Khandbari by Bhote in the pretext of taking a tour where she was raped by him and Karki. They youths were arrested on the same day and a charge of rape was filed against them on July 4.  

The girl has been staying in the district headquarters to help her younger siblings with their studies.

In another incident, police filed a case under Public Offence Act against Purna Bahadur Gurung, 20, of Mamling7 on July 6 on charge of misbehaving with Bimala Sherpa, 29, of the same place. Gurung is accused of misbehaving with her on drunken state on July 5.
