Two Schools, Bus Vandalized by ANNISU-R Cadres

Cadres affiliated to Mohan Baidhya led CPN-Maoist student wing All Nepal National Independent Students Union- Revolutionary (ANNISU-R) have vandalized two higher secondary schools and a school bus in the district on July 24.

 

ANNISU-R cadres had vandalized AIMS Higher Secondary School located at Chauraha long with Butwal Highway and Sai Global Higher Secondary School in Bhairahawa simultaneously today. They also vandalized a bus belonging to AIMS Higher Secondary School.

 

ANNISU-R had closed all higher secondary schools in the country with the demand of removing the foreign names from the higher secondary schools on July 22 and 23.

 

Five ANNISU-R students vandalized the bus plated Lu 1 Kha 6956 belonging to AIMS School at 3:45 pm, Principal DB Rayamajhi said, adding that the vandals also vandalized the school. Windows of the bus were smashed as ANNISU-R students vandalized the bus while it was about to leave the school premise carrying the students to drop them in their houses, Rayamajhi said, adding that students were terrified following the attack. The school and its bus were attacked without prior information, he added.

 

While ANNISU-R cadres attacked accountant section and principal chamber of Sai Global Higher Secondary School in Bhairahawa, Principal Indra Thapa said, adding that the school was vandalized without prior information.

 

District secretariat member of ANNISU-R Manoj Pokharel denied attacking the school bus. "As information in connection with removing foreign names of the higher secondary school has been disseminated from the media, it not necessary to inform in writing," he said.

 

Sagar Pantha, ANNISU-R district member has been arrested for his alleged involvement in the attack in AIMS school, Rameshwor Karki, Inspector at Butwal Area Police Office said, adding that Pantha is detained at Ramnagar Ward Police Office at ButwalN.P.12.
