Federal Limbuwan Party Nepal Central Secretary among seven cadres were arrested on Sunday from Birtamode of Jhapa district in course of enforcing an indefinite strike in nine districts east of the Arun river. They called the strike demanding declaration of the nine districts under Limbuwan autonomous federal state. Among the arrested are Secretary Bisham Thapa Magar, Mangal Rai, Arjun Tamang, Upendra Ektan, Mohammad Himroj, Sami Paluwang and Amar Yonghang. They were arrested while forcing the vehicles off the road from early morning and shutting down shops in the area, Area Police Office Birtamode said. Due to the strike scant number of vehicles was seen plying the highway, according to the District Police Office, Jhapa. RSS
