According to the Sunsari District Police Office, a group of armed men have attempted burglary at the house of Lilanand Mehta in Basantapur-4 VDC. The armed group fired at the house during the incident. The group failed to loot after APF police from the base camp at Basantapur intervened. The armed group exchanged fire with the APF men and ran towards the Indian side of the border. Some men were injured during the incident. Police have recovered some bullet shells and are further investigating to determine whether the armed group were Indian dacoits or some local group.
