Various woman groups took out a rally in Pokhara on Tuesday to protest the alleged misbehavior on President Bidhya Devi Bhandari during her recent Janakpur visit. The supporters of agitating Samyukta Loktantrik Madhesi Morcha had allegedly performed “purity ritual” at Janaki Temple following the President’s visit on account of her being a widow on Wednesday. President Bhandari was there to attend the Ram Janaki Bibaha Mahotsav. The women groups have submitted a memorandum to Prime Minister KP Oli through the local administration, seeking legal action. Durga Devi Pahari, the chairperson of Jagadamba Women Group, said that the act was a nasty smear on not just single women, widows, or the head of state, but on the whole nation.
