United Democratic Madhesi Front today held a rally in Birgunj accusing the police of attempting to frame its cadres on a false charge. The rally, which started from Ghantaghar, converged at the same place after passing through various parts of the city. On October 28, Ram Binesh Kushawaha of Birgunj sub-metropolis-26 had been found dead at Jagarnathpur. Following the incident, Ram Binesh’s brother Dinesh Prasad had filed an FIR against six men, whom he accused of having beaten his brother to death. Acting on the FIR, police have arrested Amar Yadav, while five others are said to be at large. Coordinator of the front’s people’s mobilisation committee Pradip Yadav said, “Though SP Rajbabu Shrestha had termed it an accident, a fake case has been filed.Front leader Nandan Yadav warned that the front will be compelled to launch protest if the ‘false charge’ against their cadres was not withdrawn.
