Complaint filed against teacher for corporal punishment

15-year-old Akrosh Budamagar studying in eight grades in Himalayan Higher Secondary School, Kushma Munucipality-4 has filed a complaint against 38-year-old Ram Prasad Bastola at the District Police Office on January 3. The victim requested to take appropriate action against the perpetrator based on his complaint. He stated in his complaint that on January 3 his teacher Bastola had badly beaten and accused him. Akrosh Budamagar whose permanent residence is Thawang VDC-1, Rolpa was temporarily living in Kushma Municipality-4, Parvat with his parents working as a laborer was badly beaten by a pipe on his head, back, and cheek which is an inhuman act, the complaint stated. A few days after the student was beaten by Ram Prasad Bastola, the victim Budamagar went to the office and asked the principal why health class has not been conducted. Madhav Regmi, the school principal accused the victim of assaulting the teacher and said the classes will not resume until and unless Budamagar apologized. He was then forced to apologize in front of all, the victim said. The victim gave an application to the District Administration Office, Parvat, and other organizations working in the Human Rights Sector along with INSEC. Police said to investigate both the accused and the victim and if necessary take legal actions.
