Police have registered a murder case against Ashok Kumar Yadav, 32, of Kajara tole in Jhutaki VDC-7 on January 17 on the charge of killing In-charge of Jhutaki Police Post ASI Ramesh Subba, 45, of Bhadrapur Municipality-11 in Jhapa. Area Police Office Kalyanpur said that Yadav was charged with murder. Police arrested him with cash 85 thousand rupees on January 14. Motorcycle-borne shooters had shot ASI Subba dead on January 4 near the culvert of Koshi western canal while he was returning towards Jhutaki police post. The eyewitness said that the assailants shot him in the chest in close range after ASI Subba tried to run away after being shot in the thigh. Post-mortem of his body was performed at BP Koirala Institute of Health Sciences in Dharan on January 5. Police have taken a motorcycle (Na25Pa 3222) in control in suspicion of being used in the incident. Police are searching for more than six locals in connection with the incident. ASI Subba, who had joined the police force 22 years ago, was posted as in-charge of the Jhutaki police post six months before.
