Talks coordinator of the SJTMM (Kautilya) Sanjay Kumar Gupta and western in-charge of the group Rabidatta Mishra (Rajguru) handed over the arms to Chief District Officer Dhundiraj Pokharel on September 28. Nepal Police, APF representatives, media persons and rights activists were present in the arms hand over.
The arms handed over are one home-made revolver, seven home-made gun, five rounds of bullets and one bullet of SLR.
Saying that his cadres were from political background, talks coordinator Gupta said that all arms that the group possessed would be handed over as per the agreement reached with the government. Nepal government and SJTMM (Kautilya) had reached a 5-point agreement on November 24, 2011.
CDO Pokharel said that the arms would be handed over to the police.
Gupta said that his party had handed over five home-made guns and bullets in Sarlahi previously. Saying that the group would hand over arms in 22 districts of Tarai, Gupta said that SJTMM would hand over arms in Kapilbastu after this.
