Police arrested a shopkeeper from Birendranagar on the charges of raping a 9-year-old minor who came to his shop to purchase things. The arrested was identified as a 46-year-old Prem Bahadur Damai, resident of Birendranagar-6. Damai was arrested on Saturday on the basis of a complaint filed by the victim's family, he was made public by the police on Sunday. According to DSP Bahadur Jung Malla of District Police Office Surkhet, the accused raped the minor girl by taking her to his room, promising to give her twenty rupees. Damai who was presented before The District Court ordered him to 3 days in custody for further investigation.
