Duo held for cooking gas black marketing

Police on Wednesday arrested two traders for their alleged involvement in cooking gas black marketing from various places of Kathmandu Valley. Balaram Shrestha, the operator of the Devi Bhagawati Store at local Ganatantra Chok in Saraswatinagar of KMC-6, was arrested from his house around 500 meters away from the shop today. Shrestha was hoarding dozens of gas cylinders in his residential home for the purpose of selling them at a higher rate, according to police. Police said 53 cylinders of Lokpriya gas were seized from his home. In a similar incident, Anil Shrestha, operator of the Anil Store in Subidhanagar, KMC-35 was arrested. Acting on public complaints, police had raided the stop and seized six gas cylinders. Police are looking into both cases.
