Bagmati Transport Management Office vandalised

The Bagmati Zonal Transport Management Office in Ekantakuna of Lalitpur district was vandalized on Tuesday night. Office chief Umesh Banet said the loss in the attack was estimated to be worth Rs 150,000. “Some windows have been broken,” he said, “The vandalism follows arrests of some persons for taking extra charges from clients (middlemen) on Tuesday afternoon.” Police deployed from the Metropolitan Police Range, Lalitpur on Tuesday had arrested as many as 26 persons for fleecing service seeks claiming themselves as paralegals. While 13 of them were found to be innocent, police began legal action against the other 14, according to DSP Ishwar Karki. Police Inspector Shyam Kumar Bista said police are searching for the vandals.
