Editor of Janahit Weekly, Satya Narayan Sharma of Biratnagar sub-metropolis-16 has been beaten up while collecting news by the cadres of Madhesi Janadhikar Forum on March 11 at the District Administration office.

  The victim was beaten by MJF cadres led by the district chairperson of Madhesi Women's Forum. The MJF cadres were staging a sit-in at the front of the district administration office demanding the operation of Security Hospital.

  The victim was beaten on the charges of publishing false news regarding the hospital. He was rescued by the police.

  The victim’s side claimed that he was called under the pretext of collecting news and was beaten up by the MJF cadres.

  The hospital has been closed since March 8 due to a dispute. The hospital was shut down after a pregnant woman died in course of treatment on March 7. All the local media had covered the news. Meanwhile, the Morang chapter of the Federation of Nepali Journalists (FNJ) condemned the incident and demanded action against the culprits.
