An elderly woman has pleaded for justice after reportedly being tortured and expelled from her house by her sons and daughters-in-law, in Rautahat district. The 70-year-old Sukhiya Devi Sah, a local of Pathara Budharam VDC-1 of the district called out for help from the Chief District Officer Narhari Baral, claiming that her sons, Ram Kishor Sah and Gauri Shankar Sah along with their wives had tortured her and thrown her out from her house. Sah said she had some dispute with the sons and their wives after her husband died and the sons registered the 16 kattha land with their own names. It has been reported that she was chained, beaten black and blue and was forced to leave the house frequently. The victim’s senior citizen allowance was also snatched away by her sons, forcing her to survive by begging around the villages. Meanwhile, it has been learn that Baral ordered the District Police Office to arrest the alleged offenders. He has also assured Sukhiya Devi Sah of the strict actions against her sons.
