Tarai Madhes Sadbhawana Party has condemned the robbery in its chairman Mahantha Thakur’s house on Friday. A gang of masked robbers wielding knives broke into his house in Sanothimi, Bhaktapur and took his daughter Dr Minakshi Jha (32) under control before making off with a briefcase containing valuables and documents. They had thrown chilli powder at Jha to overpower her on the third floor of the house. The gang also attacked Jha, leaving her injured. The crime took place at a time when Thakur was in a meeting with Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal at the latter’s official residence in Baluwatar. Issuing a statement today, TMDP spokesperson Bimal Prasad Shrivastav demanded that the government immediately nab the criminals and take action against them. The party also wished for speedy recovery of TMDP chief’s daughter. “Serious attack with a sharp weapon on Thakur’s daughter Jha and the crime of robbery committed at Thakur’s house exposes not only the deteriorating law and order situation in the country but also indicates the threat to leaders championing the cause of Madhesis, Tharus, indigenous nationalities, Dalits and Muslims,” the party stated in its release. Police said they have launched a manhunt to nab the robbers. Jha was rushed to the New Baneshwor-based Everest Hospital which later referred her to the Grande Hospital. “Jha is out of danger and has been discharged from hospital today,” said police. भक्तपुरको सानोठिमीस्थित तराई मधेस लोकतान्त्रिक पार्टीका अध्यक्ष महन्थ ठाकुरको निवासमा डकैती भएको छ । शुक्रबार साँझ ७ बजेर २५ मिनेटमा नकावधारी एक व्यक्तिले ठाकुरकी छोरी डा. मीनाक्षी र घरमा काम गर्ने कामदार रमेश यादवलाई नियन्त्रणमा लिएर लुटपाट गरेका भक्तपुर प्रहरी प्रमुख एसपी किरण बज्राचार्यले जानकारी दिइन् । प्रतिकारमा डा. मीनाक्षी घाइते भएकी छन् । छुरा प्रहारबाट उनको टाउको र हातमा चोट लागेको छ । उनलाई उपचारका लागि एभरेस्ट अस्पताल भर्ना गरिएको थियो । अहिले एमआरआईका लागि ग्रान्डी अस्पताल लगिएको छ । प्रहरीका अनुसार लुटेराले एउटा ब्रिफकेस लिएर भागेका छन् । अध्यक्ष ठाकुर भने प्रधानमन्त्री निवास बालुवाटारमा बैठकमा थिए । बैठक बसिरहेकाबेला नै घटनाको सूचना पाएपछि उपप्रधान एवं गृहमन्त्री विमलेन्द्र निधिसँगै एउटै गाडीमा अस्पताल पुगेका थिए ।
