: Half dozen injured in clash at torch rally

Police have intervened in the Torch rally organized by the Maoist party led by Netra Bikram Chand 'Biplav' in Pokhara on September 13. In line with the party's central committee's decision, the partyy had decided to stage a protest against the rampant increase in food prices, non-listing of food prices, and inefficacy of monitoring of black marketing. The party cadres accused police of intervening in an inhumane manner in the rally which was organized to highlight the livelihood issues of the people. The rally ended up in dispute after police intervention. Half dozen cadres of the Maoist party and one policeman was injured in the clash between the participants of the rally and police. Injured Maoist cadres Ramesh Shrestha and Suraj Tamu are being treated in the parkland hospital of Pokhara.
