Police intervened in the anti-election program organized by the Netra Bikram Chand-led Communist Party of Nepal in Butwal on Tuesday. In Butwal, security personnel disrupted the function organized at Traffic Chowk to protest the local elections set for May 14. Police captured the stage immediately after the program was started. Supporters gathered at the venue dispersed following the police action. Deputy Superintendent of Police Mukunda Marasini said they foiled the anti-election event as directed by the center. नेत्रविक्रम चन्द ‘विप्लव’ नेतृत्वको नेपाल कम्युनिष्ट पार्टीको चुनाव विरोधी सभामा प्रहरीले हस्तक्षेप गरेको छ । स्थानीय तहको निर्वाचनको बहिष्कार गरौँ भन्ने आह्वानका साथ सो पार्टीले बुटवलमा आयोजना गरेको लुम्बिनी ब्युरो एकीकृत जनजागरण तथा प्रतिरोध सभामा प्रहरीले हस्तक्षेप गरेको हो । बुटवलको ट्राफिक चोकमा सभा सुरु हुँदै गर्दा प्रहरीले हस्तक्षेप गरेको सो पार्टीका रुपन्देही इञ्चार्ज सरोज वलीले आरोप लगाए । इलाका प्रहरी कार्यालयका डिएसपी मुकुन्द मरासिनीले स्थानीय तहको निर्वाचनको लागि आचारसंहिता लागु भइसकेको अवस्थामा चुनाव विरोधी गतिविधि गरेकाले सभा रोकेको बताए ।
