Four policemen were injured in a scuffle with cadres of Sanghiya Gathabandhan, Samyukta Limbuwan Morcha at Budhahat Line of Itahari, Sunsari district on Tuesday. Over a dozen vehicles were vandalised in the clash. The Gathabandhan cadres had organised a protest rally in Itahari today to press for addressing their concerns through constitution amendment. Before convening into a corner assembly at the main junction after circling around the city as scheduled, the cadres started pelting stones at the security personnel provoking the clash . Police constables Birendra Tamang, Hari Subedi, Bhupal Bista and Surendra Adhikari have been injured in the clash. They are receiving medical attention at a local hospital. According to Election Commission’s code of conduct, the protest rally has to be peaceful. But the cadres were wielding batons. The clash ensued when police tried to confiscate sticks, leaving the four policemen injured, said DSP Naresh Raj Subedi. Sanghiya Limbuwan Manch’s General Secretary Ashok Chemjong accused police of intervening in their peaceful protest following which the cadres retaliated resulting in the clash. Limbuwan Morcha has been demanding that the federal states should be demarcated based on special region unlike the current state restructuring model. The rally and the corner assembly were organised to press for their demands. संघीय गठबन्धन संयुक्त लिम्बुवान मोर्चाका कार्यकर्ता र प्रहरीबीच मंगलबार इटहरीको बुधहाट लाइनमा झडप हुँदा चार प्रहरी घाइते भएका छन् । दर्जनभन्दा बढी सवारी साधन तोडफोड गरिएको छ । संविधान संशोधनमा आफ्ना मागहरू सम्बोधन हुनुपर्ने भन्दै दबाब दिन संघीय गठबन्धनले लाठीसहितको जुलुस प्रर्दशन गरेको थियो । मुख्य चौरास्तामा कोणसभा हुनुअघि बजार परिक्रमा गर्ने क्रममा लिम्बुवान मोर्चाका कार्यकर्ताले प्रहरीमाथि ढुंगामुढा गरेका थिए । कार्यकर्ताले विजय बराइलीको घडी पसल र भरत साहको पसलको सिसा तोडफोड गरेका छन् । झडपमा प्रहरी जवान वीरेन्द्र तामाङ, हरि सुवेदी, भुपाल विष्ट र सुरेन्द्र अधिकारी घाइते छन् । उनीहरूको उपचार स्थानीय अस्पतालमा भइरहेको छ । निर्वाचन आचारसंहिता विपरीत लाठी बोकेर जुलुस प्रदर्शन गरिरहेकाले खोस्ने क्रममा सामान्य घम्साघम्सी भएको डीएसपी नरेशराज सुवेदीले बताए । संघीय लिम्बुवान मञ्चका महासचिव अशोक चेम्जोङले शान्तिपूर्ण आन्दोलनमा प्रहरीले नै घुसपैठ गरेर ढुंगा हानेपछि कार्यकर्ताहरूले प्रतिकार गरेको बताए । विषेश क्षेत्रका आधारमा भौगोलिक विभाजन गर्नुपर्ने माग लिम्बुवान मोर्चाले राख्दै आएको छ । ती माग पूरा गराउन दबाब दिने उद्देश्यले जुलुस प्रदर्शन र कोण सभाको आयोजना गरिएको उनले बताए । उद्योग वाणिज्य संघ झुम्काका उपाध्यक्ष खगेन्द्र साहलगायतका दर्जन सवारीमा आन्दोलनकारीले तोडफोड गरेका थिए ।
