An unidentified group of people have blazed Jyoti Secondary School at Rupakot Mujhuwagadhi-12 on the night of May 29. The fire has destroyed nine class rooms, office, papers, library and furniture according to Principal Tika Bahadur Shrestha of the school. At about 20 million worth property was destroyed by the fire according to the preliminary investigation by the police. The reason behind the arson attack was unknown according to Prati Man Rai, chairperson of school’s management committee. A team of police have been mobilized in the area for the investigation. The nature of the incident shows that someone must have sprinkled petrol and set fire on the school according to District Education Officer Gyan Mani Nepal.
