Workers' Strike Enters Eighth Day

The 24-hour relay hunger strike, being held by the fired staffs of Himal Power Limited, the management company of Khimti Hydropower, has continued for the eighth day on January 1.

The staffs are protested the move which they claimed was taken on December 15 without any prior notice to the workers.

 

The Khimti Hydropower Nepal Free Chemical and Iron Workers Union are continuing with the 24-hour relay strike.

 

The women workers have also joined the strike saying the company did not heed to the protestors for a week.

 

The union has issued a statement informing that the workers are falling ill because of the weather.
