Golfutar of Budhanilkantha is tense Sunday afternoon after all political parties except CPN-UML have protested voter enrolment done at the house of UML president of Budhanilkantha Saturday night in connivance with Election Commission staffers. The protestors, who padlocked the municipality's office at Golfutar, have clashed with the police, according to locals. The police arrested Election Commission staffers along with equipment for voter enrolment when they were enrolling new voters at the UML leader's house till late Saturday night after the deadline for voter enrolment expired. Akrit Khadka, one of the persons deployed by the district election office, is a nephew of UML leader Arjun Khatri and was contracted on recommendation of the local body. Member of the Budhanilkantha municipal committee of Nepali Congress (NC) accused UML leaders of enrolling UML supporters at their leader's house using Akrit Khadka. UML president of Budhanilkantha has been arrested and is kept at the police office in Maharajgunj after being nabbed along with Akrit and elected ward chairman of Budhanilkantha-9 Rajendra Sapkota. NC lawmaker from the constituency Gagan Thapa raised the issue in the House on Sunday and demanded action against the guilty claiming that sanctity of election has been compromised by UML leaders in connivance with Election Commission staffers. Stating that taking Election Commission equipment to home amounts to theft, he demanded action against the elected representatives involved in the theft. बुढानीलकण्ठ नगरपालिकाको कार्यालयमा तालाबन्दी भएको छ । नगरपालिकाका कर्मचारीको मिलेमतोमा नेकपा एमाले नेताको घरमा मध्यरातमा तस्वीरसहितको मतदाता नामावली संकलन गरिएको खुलेपछि अन्य राजनीतिक दलहरुले नगरपालिकाको कार्यालयमा तालाबन्दी गरेका हुन् । मतदाता नामावली संकलन गर्न आएका कर्मचारीहरुले एमाले नगर अध्यक्ष दीपक निराैलाको घरमा राति २ बजेसम्म नामावली संकलन गरेको तर खास मतदाताहरुको नामावली संकलन नगरेको भन्दै बिरोध प्रदर्शन समेत गरेका थिए । नामावली संकलन गर्ने उपकरण समेत एमालेका स्थानीय नेता तथा कार्यकर्ताले कब्जा गरेर अाअाफ्नै घरमा नामावली संकलन गरेको अन्य राजनीतिक दलहरूले अारोप लगाएका छन् । कांग्रेस र माओवादी केन्द्रले यस अघि संकलन गरिएका मतदाता नामावली खारेज गरेर पुनः मतदाता नामावली संकलन गर्न जिल्ला निर्वाचन कार्यालयसंग माग गरेका छन् । रातको समयमा नामावली संकलन गर्ने केही व्यक्तिहरुलाई राति २ बजे नै एमाले नगर कमिटी अध्यक्ष निराैलाको घरबाटै प्रहरीले पक्राउ गरेको जनाइएको छ ।
