Violation of code of conduct to show off in Bara

2017-09-14

Madhes, Bara, Kalaiya

It has been found that various political parties have been violating the election code of conduct to influence the voters in the third round of local elections on September 18. Despite the Election Commission enforcing various codes of conduct in the election, the leaders of the political parties in the district seem to be violating the code of conduct by sending propaganda to school children, putting up big pamphlets in public places, spreading propaganda loudly and using many vehicles in the campaign. Candidates of some political parties, on the other hand, have been using third genders. According to Bara Chief Electoral Officer Ritendra Thapa, it is not allowed for any party to use the sound device to campaign for the election. He said that if found to have done so, the police would be mobilized as a suggestion to stop such programs. Thapa informed that he would ask for an explanation if he did not stop violating the code of conduct and would take action. Candidates of Nepali Congress, UML, Maoist Center, Federal Socialist Party, Rashtriya Janata Dal and other parties have been violating the code of conduct.
