Saptari/June 17 A civilian has been thrashed by policeman in the police post at Gamhariya Prabaha VDC-1 on June 16. Bechan Yadab, 28, of same place was beaten by police constable Sudama Yadav in the direction of ASI Ram Sharan Singh of the police post. According to the victim, he was beaten when he reached the police post to free his buffalo held captive by Wakil Miya, 60, of same place. Bechan said that Wakil had tied his buffalo since June 15 on charge of eating his paddy seeds. Police beat me even when I said that I was ready to compensate the cost of the paddy seeds, Bechan said. Meanwhile, ASI Singh denied beating Bechan. He said that a dispute had occurred.
