Informal Sector Service Centre (INSEC) has condemned the arrest of human rights defenders holding peaceful demonstrations at South Gate of Singha Darbar on January 2.

Signed by INSEC chairperson Subodh Raj Pyakurel, the statement also asked for the release of all of them.

The activists were protesting the government decision of awarding blanket amnesty to those responsible for serious crimes and those convicted by the court.

The statement has also asked for the immediate establishment of TRC and Disappearance Commission as per the international standard.
