A man murdered his uncle over a land dispute at Prasauni Rural Municipality-1 of Bara district on Thursday. According to locals, two groups of Pramod Patel and his uncle Ganapat engaged in a clash following a land dispute between the nephew and uncle. During the clash, Patel and his friends rained batons on Ganapat Raut. Critically injured, Raut breathed his last while being rushed to the Birgunj-based Narayani Sub-Regional Hospital, said DSP Bhuwaneshwor Prasad Sah, Spokesperson at Bara District Police Office. “A police team from a local police post immediately reached the site following the incident,” he said, adding, “Ganapat was rescued with the help of police and sent to Birgunj for treatment. Unfortunately, he died on the way.” Pramod Patel, 20, his mother Sita Devi, of Prasauni Rural Municipality-1, and Binod Patel, son-in-law of the deceased, of Parsagadhi Rural Municipality-4 have been arrested for their alleged involvement in the incident, DSP Sah said.
