Man Wanted in Multiple Killing Cases Arrested, Made Public

Banke/August 22 Dsitrict Police Office has made public most wanted Jiyaul Manihar alias Wakil Darji of Indrapr VDC-3 on Augut 22. Manihar is accused of carrying out several criminal activities including killings, abduction and extortion as a member of Tarai Janatantrik Party Madhesh. Police had arrested Manihar with Brown Sugar at Nepalgunj Municipality-5 on July 1. During the course of the interrogation, Manihar identified himself as Wakil Darji of Rupaidiha, India but later his true identity was discovered. Manihar is accused of killing Gangaram Pasi, 22, and Munna Yadav, 22, of Khajurakhurd VDC-1 by sliting their throat in Indrapur VDC-7 on November 14, 2009. Likewise, he is also accused of slitting throats of Liladhar Bhatta, 15, of Barakot, Baitadi and living in Nepalgunj Municipality-15 on October 3 and and Kapil Dwibedi, 15, of Nepalgunj Municipality-15 on October 3. They were abducted on September 30. District Court has sentenced to eight people including Manihar to 78 years in prison in connection to killing of the boys. He was also accused of abducting and holding hostage Mahendra Shahi, 28, of Chandannath Tole in Nepalgunj Municipality-1 on May 13. Shahi was rescued by Nepal Police with the support of their Indian counterparts from Lagarghatta in Kotwali on May 25, SP Bhupal Kumar Bhandari said. He further informed that cases of murder, abduction and hostage taking, drug abuses and control act.
