Banke/August 24 Kalim Ray, 25, of Udarapur VDC-8 has been arrested by Area Police Office, Dhanauli on August 23 on charge of rape of a 25-year-old woman. Police say another accused of the crime, Jharu Bhat of Udarapur VDC-9 remains absconding. The victim filed a complaint at District Police Office on August 24 saying the duo had raped her as she had gone to the jungle to collect fuel wood. Her medical check up was conducted at Bheri Zonal Hospital on August 23, SI Minraj Neupane informed. Women supporting the victim picketed Area Police Office demanding justice for her. Police said that they were investigating the case and search for the absconding accused was going on.
