Chitwan/August 27 Harimaya Mahato, 24, of Dibya Nagar VDC-2 has lodged a complaint against her husband Bhim Bahadur Mahato, 50, at Women and Children Service Centre on August 27, accusing him of beating her. The police have arrested Bhim Bahadur on the same day. The victim said that she was beaten and injured by her husband following a minor family dispute on the night of August 26. The victim was locked inside the room and beaten till she was unconscious, according to her mother Budani Mahato. However, the accused denied beating her and claimed that he just slapped her in a family dispute. Legal process will be taken after investigation, according to SI Tulsi Pariyar of Women and Children Service Centre. The victim got medical treatment at Chitwan medical college.
