Woman Killed for 'Demanding Citizenship Certificate'

Bara,nagrikta banauna dabab diyeko karan mahilako hatya. Bara/September 10 A 22-year-old woman has lost her life at the hands of her family members for demanding her citizenship certificate. Mofidun Nesa of Prastoka VDC-2 was strangulated by her husband and mother-in-law on September 4, police informed. Police arrested the accused mother-in-law Nurbani Khatun, 45 while husband Firoz, 25, remains absconding since the day of murder. Police says there were minor injuries on Nesa’s body most likely sustained during her resistance to murder. The investigation against the accused was initiated on September 7 and Katun arrested after FIR filed by her father Saifullah Ansari. Nesa was married to Firoz four years ago. She was requesting her husband and in-laws for signing in her application for citizenship certificate. Investigation officer of the case, Ramnath Ghimire said Nesa was killed her one month after she got the citizenship certificate. L
