Morang/September 24 Maya Sarki, 35, of Karamdanda I Belbari VDC-3 who was subjected to inhuman treatment has been pressured by family of the accused to withdraw her case. Speaking at a program organized by the National Dalit Commission organized in Biratnagar on September 23, Maya said that the family of the accused had been pressuring her to sell her land and house and leave the place. She was repatriated on September 5, 2013 after the District Administration Office ensured her safety. Assistant Chief District Officer Prem Prasad Luntel said that action would be taken after investigation if she filed a complaint regarding the pressure she has been facing. She was displaced on July 23 after being inhumanly treated by locals. Executive Editor of the Fight Weekly Manoj Biswakarma who was also displaced in the incident had already returned. The accused have already been released on bail. Relative of one of the accused Nira Prasain said that they had only attempted to buy the house of Maya and hand not pressured her in any way.
