For the first time after 20 years, the local level election was held and in most of the places Dalit, women representation was significant despite of that, most of the representatives complaints that they still feels being discriminated in many instances. The elected representatives are raising voices for the rights of people by participating various programs but their own rights are being snatched, they said. Women representatives said that even urban or rural area, dalit representatives are being discriminated indirectly. Dalit women member Laxmi Bohara of Baglung Municipaity-1 said that they had to face discrimination in many places, but indirectly. She added that in public places, there are still issues of untouchability, but not directly. They complained that the country has already headed towards the federal practices but still discrimination prevails. Dalit member Rewati Kisan of Baglung Municipality-3 said that the society has been transformed and changed as compared to the previvious however still the discrimination is prevailing in the society. In Nepal, there are 5,568 Dalit women members according to the Dalit Commission. Similarly, there are seven Dalit women chiefs at District Coordination Committee, three vice chief, four mayors, five vice-mayors, one Rural Municipality chair and 30 ward chairmen. In seven provinces, there are 25 dalit MPs and seven in national Assembly, three in in house of parliament and 19 proportionate from the dalit community. These representatives still concerns that about the prevailing discrimination in the society. २० वर्षपछि स्थानीय, पहिलोपटक प्रदेश तथा केन्द्रको निर्वाचन हुँदा केही ठाउँ बाहेक प्रायः ठाउँमा दलित महिला सदस्यको उपस्थिति पनि राम्रो भएको भएपनि निर्वाचित दलित जनप्रतिनिधिहरू जातीय विभेदबाट पीडित हुनुपरेको गुनासो गर्छन् । निर्वाचित दलित महिला सदस्यहरू आफूहरू विभिन्न सार्वजनिक कार्यक्रममा जाने, बोल्ने, सबैको हक अधिकारको बारेमा आवाज उठाउने गरे पनि आफ्नो अधिकार अझै खोसिएको बताउँछन् । शहरी तथा ग्रामीण क्षेत्रमा पनि प्रत्यक्ष तथा अप्रत्यक्ष रूपमा विभेद सहनुपरेको जनप्रतिनिधि महिलाहरूको भनाई छ । बागलुङ नपा-१ की दलित महिला सदस्य लक्ष्मी बोहोराले विभिन्न बहानामा आफूहरूले अझै पनि विभेद खेप्नुपरेको बताइन् । सार्वजनिक कार्यक्रमहरूमा समेत अप्रत्यक्ष ढङ्गबाट छुवाछुत हुने गरेको उनको भनाई छ । जनप्रतिनिधि साथीहरूबाटै अप्रत्यक्ष रूपमा विभेद हुने गरेको बोहोराको भनाई छ । देश सङ्घीय अभ्यासमा जाँदा पनि नागरिकको चेतनामा परिवर्तन हुन नसकेको दलित महिला सदस्यहरू बताउँछन् । कानुनी प्रावधानले यसपटकको निर्वाचनमा राजनीतिक दलहरूले उपप्रमुख र उपाध्यक्ष पदमा महिला एवम् वडामा दलित महिला सदस्यलाई प्राथमिकता दिएकाले सो पदमा दलित महिलाको उपस्थिति बढेको देखिन्छ । बागलुङ नपा-३ की दलित महिला सदस्य रेवती किसानले विगतको तुलनामा अहिले समाजमा परिर्वतन आएको भएपनि छुवाछुत कायमै रहेको गुनासो गरिन् । पुरानो पुस्तामा चेतना फेरिन नसके पनि अहिलेका युवाहरूमा भने विभेदको भावना केही हदसम्म हट्न थालेको किसान बताउँछिन् । नेपालमा जम्मा दलित महिला सदस्य ५ हजार ५ सय ६८ जना रहेको दलित आयोगले जनाएको छ । यस्तै जिल्ला समन्वय समितिमा प्रमुख सात जना, उपप्रमुख तीन जना, मेयर चार जना, उपमेयर पाँच जना, गाउँपालिका अध्यक्ष एक जना, उपाध्यक्षमा नौ जना एवम् वडा अध्यक्ष ३० जना रहेका छन् । ७ वटा प्रदेशमा २५ जना दलित सांसदहरू छन् भने राष्ट्रिय सभामा सात जना, प्रतिनिधिसभामा तीन जना एवम् समानुपातिकमा १९ जना दलित समुदायका जनप्रतिनिधि रहेको बताइएको छ । यतिको सङ्ख्यामा समाजमा नेतृत्व गर्ने तहसम्म पुगेपनि शहरी भेगमा समेत विभेदको अन्त्य गर्न नसकिएको दलित जनप्रतिनिधिहरूको गुनासो रहेको छ । अहिले निर्वाचित प्रतिनिधिहरूले आफ्नो समुदायको पक्षमा राम्रो काम गरिदिए दलित समुदायको हक अधिकारको संरक्षण हुने उनीहरूको भनाई छ ।
