The temporary (Myadi) police personnel who have been selected for the election security clashed with police in Kalaiya on October 21.
The clash ensued after Myadi policeperson demanded three month salary, deployment within the district and clear provisions in the appointment letter.
Six policemen and more than 20 Myadi police were injured in the incident. 19 Myadi police have been held in custody following the clash.
The injured are being treated at Kalaiya hospital, said Inspector Dharmaraj Bhandari of the District Police Office. He said that actions would be taken against the arrested Myadi policemen.
More than 1 thousand Myadi policemen began protesting when Inspector Uttam Baral was informing them about the facilities they were entitled to following their recruitment. Police had used force after the Myadi policemen obstructed vehicular movement and gheraed the District Administration Office for some time.
