Family members of 28-year-old Govinda Damai, a resident of Khandachakra municipality-1 has accused constable Surendra Pariyar of Kalikot District Police of brutally beating Damai on August 17. Damai who resides near Woman and Children's Office in Kalikot was seriously injured when the police constable beat him accusing him of doing things harmful to the police constable. Damai's family has accused the police constable of beating him after he came to know about the police constable's illicit relationship with a local woman. According to inspector Niraj Chaulagai of District Police Office the accused remains on the run following the incident. The victim underwent medical examinaiton at Kalikot District hospital. खाँडाचक्र नगरपालिका–१ का २८ वर्षीय गोविन्द दमाईलाई जिल्ला प्रहरी कार्यालय कालिकोटमा कार्यरत प्रहरी हवल्दार सुरेन्द्र परियारले भदौ १ गते निर्घात कुटपिट गरेको पीडित पक्षले आरोप लगाएको छ । महिला तथा बालबालिका कार्यालय कालिकोट नजिकै घर भएका दमाईलाई आफ्नो हित विपरीत काम गरेको आरोपमा प्रहरी हवल्दार परियारले निर्घात कुटपिट गर्दा दमाई गम्भीर घाइते भएका हुन् । प्रहरी हवल्दार सधैँ सादा पोशाकमा आउने गरेका र एक महिलासँग अवैध सम्बन्ध राख्ने गरेको थाहा पाएकाले कुटपिट गरेको पीडितले आरोप लगाएका छन् । घटनापछि आरोपित प्रहरी हवल्दार फरार रहेको जिल्ला प्रहरी कार्यालयका इन्स्पेक्टर निरज चौलागाईँले बताएका छन् । घाइते दमाईको उपचार जिल्ला अस्पताल कालिकोटमा भइरहेको छ ।
